Frequently Asked Questions

What is a rubber air hose used for?

A rubber air hose delivers compressed air from a compressor to pneumatic tools, machines and processes in workshops, on construction sites and across industry. Its tube is compounded to resist the oil mist that compressor air always carries.

What working pressure do TOTFLEX air hoses have?

Air hoses are typically rated from 10 to 20 bar, with heavy-duty types reaching around 25 bar. The exact working pressure depends on bore and construction and is confirmed before supply.

Can an air hose also carry water?

Some TOTFLEX textile-reinforced grades serve as air/water utility hoses. If you need both media on one hose, tell us and we will specify a suitable dual-purpose build.

Why do air hoses need an oil-resistant tube?

Compressors carry a fine oil mist into the air stream. A tube compounded to resist that oil stays flexible and does not swell or crack, giving the hose a longer, safer service life.

Are TOTFLEX air hoses suitable for breathing air?

No. These are industrial pneumatic hoses for tools and processes. Breathing-air (respiratory) applications require hoses separately certified for that use.
