What is an abrasive hose used for?
An abrasive hose carries abrasive solids — blast grit, sand, shot, gravel, aggregate, cement and dry powders — without eroding quickly. It is used for sandblasting, shot-blast cleaning and dry-bulk material handling.
Why are sandblast hoses made from natural rubber?
Natural rubber (NR) has exceptional resilience and abrasion resistance, so a thick NR tube wears away slowly under the constant scouring of blast media, giving the hose a long, predictable service life.
What does a static-conductive abrasive hose do?
Fast-moving dry, abrasive particles generate static electricity. A static-conductive tube and cover let that charge dissipate safely to earth through the couplings, reducing the risk of a static discharge during blasting or bulk transfer.
What is the difference between 2-ply and 4-ply sandblast hose?
A 2-ply hose is lighter and more flexible, suited to portable blasting and tight access. A 4-ply hose has more reinforcement and a heavier wall for maximum wear life in continuous, heavy blasting.
Can an abrasive hose be used for suction?
Yes — material-handling and dry-bulk types include an embedded steel wire helix so they resist vacuum and crushing, letting them both suck and discharge granular media.
