Omega Type U-Flex Expansion Loops

A braided flexible metal hose formed into an Ω-shaped loop that absorbs large axial and lateral movement on long pipe runs — for steam mains, district-heating networks and hot-fluid lines where thermal elongation exceeds the travel of a single in-line bellows.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is an Omega (Ω) expansion loop?

A metal expansion joint whose bellows is formed as a deep Ω-shaped loop. The loop unrolls as the pipe grows, absorbing far more axial travel than a conventional convolution.

Where is it used?

On long steam, condensate and hot-water distribution runs — district heating, plant mains and steam headers where thermal elongation exceeds the travel of standard axial joints.

How does it differ from a standard axial joint?

The Ω-loop geometry stores more length per element, so one joint replaces several conventional units and reduces the number of anchors and guides.

What sizes and ratings are available?

DN25 to DN200 as standard, PN16 (250 psi), from -90 °C up to +600 °C. Other ratings are engineered to order.

What documentation is supplied?

Dimensional approval drawings with the quotation and EN 10204 3.1 material certificates with the shipment on request.
