Frequently Asked Questions
What is a ruler type level indicator?
A float-operated, board-mounted tank level gauge: a float moves a pointer along a tall graduated board so the liquid level can be read directly, without electrical power for the local display.
How accurate is it?
The local board indication is typically within ±25 mm. The optional magnetic level transmitter provides a 4–20 mA signal accurate to about ±10 mm of the total range.
Does it need power?
The local reading is fully mechanical. Only the optional transmitter requires a supply (24 V DC, 2-wire).
What tank heights can it cover?
The board is assembled from 1 m sections on a standpipe about 600 mm taller than the tank, so it is built to virtually any tank height and graduated to the required range.
Can it send a signal to the control room?
Yes — a version with an integrated magnetic level transmitter gives both the local board reading and a 4–20 mA output, in a flameproof Ex d, IP66 enclosure.
Which materials contact the liquid?
The float and wire rope are SS316 stainless steel as standard; other materials can be specified for aggressive media.
