Frequently Asked Questions

What is a flexible sprinkler hose used for?

It connects a fire-sprinkler branch line to the sprinkler head with a bendable braided stainless hose instead of rigid pipe, so the head can be positioned precisely in a suspended or plaster ceiling and relocated easily if the layout changes.

What is the difference between reduced-bore and full-bore sprinkler hoses?

A reduced-bore hose has a smaller internal diameter for standard-response heads with lower flow demand; a full-bore hose keeps a larger internal diameter to preserve the head's K-factor for extended-coverage or higher-demand heads.

How are TOTFLEX sprinkler connection sets quality-assured?

Every set is made from stainless hose and braid, pressure- and leak-tested in the factory, and delivered with EN 10204 3.1 material certificates.

What lengths and connections are available?

Hoses are typically supplied from about 700 mm to 1800 mm, with 3/4" or 1" inlets and 1/2" or 3/4" outlet reducers in BSP, NPT or a customer thread; longer lengths and other threads are made to order.

Which ceilings can the bracket be fixed to?

Bracket and support-bar options cover suspended grid (T-bar) ceilings, C-channel and flat-bar frames, and plasterboard/gypsum ceilings, so the head sits flush with the finished surface.

Does the set have to be installed by a fire-protection contractor?

Yes — sprinkler systems must be designed and installed by a qualified fire-protection contractor to the applicable local fire code. The set is engineered to fit quickly and repeatably within that work.
