What is a non-braided flexible metal hose used for?
Low-pressure and unpressurised duty where flexibility matters most — exhaust and venting, thermal-expansion take-up, flexible ducting, drainage and low-pressure gas or vapour conveyance.
Why choose non-braided over braided hose?
When the line is low-pressure, an unbraided hose bends more tightly, moves more freely and costs less. Choose braided only when the pressure rating requires it.
Can a non-braided hose handle high pressure?
No. Without a braid to contain internal pressure, it is limited to low-pressure service. For higher pressure, use a braided flexible metal hose.
Is non-braided hose suitable for exhaust systems?
Yes. Its flexibility and high-temperature stainless construction make it well suited to engine, generator and burner exhaust and venting.
Does removing the braid change the temperature rating?
No — temperature capability comes from the stainless core, so an unbraided hose handles the same high temperatures. Only the pressure rating is lower.
