What is a fan coil hose used for?
It is a flexible connector that links a fan coil unit to the chilled- and hot-water pipework of an HVAC system, carrying water to the coil while absorbing fan vibration and thermal movement and easing the alignment between the fixed unit and site pipework.
Should I choose a braided stainless or an EPDM fan coil hose?
Braided stainless hoses cover the widest pressure and temperature range and suit both hot- and chilled-water duty; reinforced EPDM hoses are prized for flexibility, quiet operation and condensation-tolerant chilled-water connections. TOTFLEX supplies both.
Can the hose come with a valve and strainer?
Yes — as a connection set the hose can be supplied with an isolation ball valve, a Y-strainer and a balancing or pressure-independent control valve (PICV), so the whole coil connection is delivered as one coordinated assembly.
What sizes and lengths are available?
Fan coil hoses are typically supplied in DN15–DN25 (1/2"–1") with lengths from about 300 mm to 1000 mm; other sizes, lengths and thread forms are made to order.
Why use a flexible hose instead of rigid pipe at the coil?
A flexible hose decouples fan-borne vibration and noise from the rigid network, absorbs thermal expansion and unit movement, and lets a fixed coil connect to prefabricated pipework quickly without straining the joints.
Are the hoses suitable for chilled-water systems where condensation forms?
Yes — both stainless and EPDM constructions handle chilled water, and hoses can be supplied pre-insulated or lagged to prevent surface condensation on cold lines.
